Since 2020, we have been producing all our pet food products in a completely climate-neutral way at our home in Kevelaer on the Lower Rhine. Our story begins in the picturesque town of Kevelaer, along the beautiful Lower Rhine. In 1949, Karl Vos, driven by determination and vision, built what was then a mixed feed factory. He understood the growing importance of animal food production in Germany and anticipated the agricultural changes ahead.
As new opportunities emerged, the company grew. By the 1960s, we had begun specialising in calves’ milk production to meet rising demand for this essential nutritional resource.
The next chapter started in 1979 when Bernd Vos recognised the growing pet food market. With clear foresight, he guided our family business into the world of pet nutrition. This decision set the course for Mera to become a trusted name in high quality pet food, focusing on the health and happiness of dogs and cats.
